My Story in Style

Hi, I'm Sev (also go by Sandra). Based in Melbourne I'm a personal stylist helping women build confidence, clarity, and ease through their wardrobe, especially through seasons of transition like motherhood, career growth, and body changes.

I bring 20+ years in corporate HR into this too. I'm still in that career today, which means I understand firsthand how to dress for the job you want while juggling everything else life throws at you, because I'm doing it myself.

Styled with Sev was born from a love letter I wrote to my own wardrobe, reflecting on my own season of transition. It went on to win "Love Letter to Your Wardrobe," a writing competition run by Fitted for Work, an organisation dedicated to helping women dress with confidence for employment, a mission I deeply believe in. Here's that letter:

Dear Beloved Wardrobe

You were my armor and my muse. Each piece blazers, heels, silk blouses carried my ambition, my confidence, and my joy. You knew me before lullabies and midnight feeds, before my body became a vessel of change.

I remember the way I used to reach for you with certainty. You fit me like a second skin, reflecting the woman who walked with purpose and dressed with flair. You were my curated gallery of self-expression, a celebration of who I was and who I was becoming.

Then came the babies. And with them, a beautiful chaos. My body shifted, my priorities danced to a new tune, and my style once so instinctive became a question mark. I traded heels for slippers and structure for softness. You waited patiently, tucked away, as I navigated motherhood’s tender terrain.

Now, as I step back into the world of work the career I love with the same fire I hold for my children I find myself standing before you again. But I am not the same. I am more. I am layered with resilience, seasoned with grace, and stitched together by sleepless nights and boundless love.

So, dear wardrobe, I ask you to evolve with me. Let’s reimagine our relationship. Let’s blend the power of who I was with the wisdom of who I am now. Let’s find pieces that honor my new curves, my new pace, my new priorities. Let’s make space for comfort without sacrificing style, for elegance that embraces ease.

I won’t force myself back into the old silhouettes just to chase a ghost of who I used to be. Instead, I’ll build a new collection one that celebrates this chapter. One that says: I am a mother, I am a professional, and I am still wildly in love with fashion.

My family, friends, and colleagues come to me for style advice and inspiration not just because I know how to dress, but because I understand how clothing can empower, transform, and tell a story. I carry with me a piece of advice that has always rung true: dress for the job you want, not the job you have. And now, I extend that wisdom to every woman I meet because I believe in helping women look and feel their best, not just for the world outside, but for the confidence that blooms within.

Thank you for being part of my story. Let’s write the next chapter together with grace, with joy, and with a killer pair of trousers that actually fit.

With love and a fresh perspective

Me

If your wardrobe needs a next chapter too, let’s write it together.
